Rowena Johnson was born on November 10, 1960, to the late Mariah Hall and George Lee McMillan. She was raised in Wakulla County, Florida, where she attended public schools and built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. On Monday, November 3, 2025, Rowena was called home to eternal rest. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to nurturing those she loved with warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Rowena was a proud and loving mother to her only child, David Johnson Jr., and a devoted sister and friend to many. Her bond with her brother, Lawrence McMillan Sr. (Peggy McMillan), was especially strong—he was both her confidant and lifelong supporter. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her sisters Dorothy McMillan, Sheila Perry-McReynold, and Susan McMillan-Smith; her brothers Andre Hall, Alvin Hall, George McMillan Jr., Gregory McMillan Sr., and Kenneth McMillan; her granddaughter Devette Johnson; her devoted niece Jamil Clary; her devoted nephew James Clay Jr.; and her forever companion Oscar Larkins. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will remember her with deep affection. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Linda Clary, Georgia McMillan-White, and Leslie McMillan; and her brothers Quentin Perry, Juan Perry, Elvis McMillan, Alvin Lee McMillan, and Roderick McMillan. Rowena’s life was a testament to love, grace, and steadfast faith. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has found peace and eternal rest in the arms of the Lord.
