Rodney Wayne Young was the first born son, to the union of Annie Mae Jones Young (deceased) and Julius Alonzo Young (Jackie) on the eighth day of February in 1960.
As the eldest of all his siblings, Rodney learned early to lead life with the kind of love that was sacrificial.
Rodney accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of St. Paul AME in West Palm Beach, Fl.
He was an active member of the Tallahassee Community serving others in a grand measure of different rolls. He served as a manager of various Food Industries (Taco Bell, Wendys, Sbarro.) He also worked as a mail courier at the esteemed Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He served Tallahassee Parks and Recreation as a Park Attendant. Finally he spent his latter years serving a non-profit, Lake Jackson Academy. There he spent his days pouring into the youth of this city in anyway he was asked. Rodney embodied the spirit of Jonathan and everyone he loved was his David. “Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 1 Samuel 18:1”
Rodney’s legacy of love will always be remembered by his children Kennedy, Tia, Brian, Domonique, and Amiracle; Grandchildren: Joikyera, Aundrea, Johnathan, Rodney, Jayden, Neema, Izaiah, Lovely, Christopher Jr., Dominic, and Anthony . His siblings: Ricci Young (Ava), Julie Young, Walter Young, Troy Young (Wanda), Jay Young (Tyrene), Jayson Young. As well as a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was welcomed home by Annie Mae Jones Young, Mable Jones, and Julia Mae Dixon
