Randy Delandro Scott Jr.

Randy Delandro Scott Jr., affectionately known as “Dale,” passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2025. Born in Tallahassee to the late Randy Delandro Scott Sr. and Mary Lynn Tyler, he was the youngest of four children. He received his education through the Leon County Public School System and went on to earn his license as a professional barber. Despite the many challenges life presented, Dale faced them with resilience and strength, doing the best he could with what he had. A gifted craftsman, Dale was not only a master barber but also highly skilled in masonry. From a young age, he demonstrated a remarkable talent for building, fixing, and creating with precision and care. Whether cutting hair or laying bricks, Dale approached his work with passion and pride. His hands were blessed, and his heart even more so. Dale had an incredible mind and a sharp wit—he could hold a conversation with anyone on just about anything. He was comical, charismatic, and known for lighting up any room he entered. He never met a stranger and had a special gift for making others laugh and feel welcome. Children gravitated toward him, and he always had a kind word, a silly joke, or a warm smile to offer. He leaves to cherish his memory four beloved children: one daughter, D’erra Scott; two sons, Cordale Scott and Harold Randy Scott; and a stepdaughter, Amani Jones—all of whom will carry his legacy with love and pride. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lynn ScottTyler and Randy Delandro Scott Sr.; his sister, Tonya K. Wheeler; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his siblings: Rhonda Scott-Anderson (Casey), Ronald L. Brown Sr., Constanza Scott-Dickey, Shirley Jones Stauffer, Jeff Scott Sr., Eric Scott, and Antonio and Antwon Gibson. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched deeply. Though Dale sometimes made promises he couldn’t keep, those who truly knew him understood his heart. His intentions were rooted in a genuine desire to do right, even when the weight of life's challenges made it difficult to follow through. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale’s memory to benefit his children: D’erra Scott, Cordale Scott, and Harold Randy Scott, c/o Rhonda Anderson. Dale’s life was a vibrant blend of laughter, love, and legacy. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
