His Life Story
Melvin Eugene Henderson, affectionately known as “Twin,” “B,” and “Bi,” was born on April 15, 1971, in Tallahassee, Florida, to the late Ellinor L. Henderson, Sr. and Tessie Jugger Henderson Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ellinor L. Henderson, Jr.; Carolyn Henderson Ziegler; and his beloved twin brother, Marvin Eugene Henderson.
Melvin accepted Christ at an early age and, along with his family, became a member of Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church in Tallahassee. His faith remained an important part of his life. After relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, he continued to fellowship with others in the Christian faith.
Educated in the Leon County Public Schools, Melvin worked in various capacities with the State of Florida and Florida State University. He also spent many years working as a chef. As his health declined, he was eventually unable to continue working.
Melvin treasured his family and the time he spent with those he loved. He enjoyed playing PlayStation and was an avid Florida State football fan. His love, laughter, personality, and ability to connect with others created memories that will remain with his family forever.
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, God gently called Melvin from his earthly labor to eternal rest. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the lives he touched will continue to live on.
Cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 16 years, Lindsay Henderson of Jacksonville, Florida; his son, Melvin Josky Henderson of Quincy, Florida; his daughter, Melavien Henderson of Tallahassee, Florida; and his beloved grandchildren, Aryia Janelle Henderson and Ace Josky Henderson, both of Quincy, Florida.
He also leaves his brother, Napoleon Carlow of Tallahassee, Florida; sisters, Rosa M. Tucker and Diane (Dwayne) Hart, both of Tallahassee; aunts, Marilyn Brooks “Jennie” Miller and Daisy (Willie) Hayes; sisters-in-law, Joan Henderson of Quincy and Algresha Henderson of Tallahassee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Rest peacefully, Melvin. You fought your fight, finished your journey, and now you can rest.
