My Life

With unwavering faith and a heart devoted to serving others, Margie McCutcheon peacefully entered eternal rest on July 29, 2026, at the age of 86, while surrounded by compassionate care at Big Bend Hospice, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born on December 16, 1939, in Crawfordville, Florida, to the late Lula Mae Johnson and Nathaniel Williams, and was their cherished only child.Margie accepted Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in her Christian walk throughout her life. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Crawfordville, Florida, where she served diligently on the Mother's Board and willingly assisted wherever she was needed. Whether helping maintain the church, encouraging others, or nurturing young people in the faith, Margie found great joy in serving God's people.She received her early education in the Wakulla County School System, graduating from high school before continuing her education through college. Her commitment to learning prepared her for a career dedicated to helping others.

On December 19, 1955, Margie married the love of her life, Reverend Dr. Vincent Leroy McCutcheon. Together they shared a remarkable journey of faith and ministry. As First Lady of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in East Chicago, Indiana, she faithfully served alongside her husband during his years as pastor. Her ministry centered on children and youth, serving as Youth Director while investing countless hours into programs that inspired, encouraged, and strengthened young lives. Her passion for mentoring children and teaching God's Word remained evident throughout her life.Professionally, Margie devoted more than twenty years as an Employment Specialist, assisting individuals in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. She approached her profession with the same compassion, patience, and dedication that characterized every aspect of her life.Following the passing of her beloved husband and upon her retirement, Margie returned to her roots in Wakulla County, where she remained an active and faithful member of her home church until the Lord called her home.Margie will long be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, unwavering faith, elegant sense of style, forgiving heart, and genuine love for people. She possessed a special gift for encouraging children and young adults and never missed an opportunity to share the goodness of the Lord. Her life was a beautiful reflection of grace, humility, and servant leadership.Cherishing her precious memories are her devoted cousin and caregiver, Angela Herring Hilliard, whose tireless love and faithful care brought comfort throughout Margie's later years; Virginia Herring; Joetta McMillan (Ernest); Ernestine Williams Allen (Keith); Linda Robinson; Ernest Williams; and a host of beloved cousins, relatives, church family, and friends who will forever treasure the impact she made on their lives.
