Karter Breon Smith, a vibrant and spirited young soul, was born on March 24, 2010, inahassee, Florida. He left this world far too soon on December 23, 2024, in Thomasville, Georgia. Karter’s infectious smile and boundless energy touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know him.
He was the beloved son of Shantorria Herring (Musa Harris) and Magarret Smith (deceased), whose love for him knew no bounds. Karter is survived by his devoted siblings: Shaliyah Jones, Vashanti Galloway, and Mariah Smith. Together, they shared countless memories filled with laughter and joy that will forever echo in their hearts. Karter's grandparents, Ruthie and Wilbert Jenkins, and Kimberly and Dennis Smith, provided unwavering support throughout his life and cherished him deeply.
Karter's family also included aunts and uncles—Shakira Herring, Steve Herring, and Montage Adams—along with other loving relatives, classmates, and friends who mourn his loss profoundly. A dedicated student within the Leon County Public School system, Karter excelled academically while embracing his passion for sports. His enthusiasm was evident whether he was playing soccer, shooting hoops on the basketball court, sprinting down the track, or tackling opponents on the football field; he approached each game with determination and a desire to shine brightly alongside his friends.
Beyond athletics, Karter had a unique gift for bringing people together through laughter and kindness. Friends often remarked on his ability to light up even the darkest days with his presence and his radiant smile—a beacon of positivity that inspired those around him.
As we gather to remember this remarkable young man, we celebrate everything that made Karter so special. The warmth of friendships and the shared experiences he forged will never be forgotten, and we reflect on how much brighter our lives became because of him. In moments of sorrowful reflection, we also find gratitude for having known such a beautiful spirit. Karter's legacy will continue to live on through the cherished memories held dear by family and friends near and far.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their thoughts during this difficult time as we honor Karter and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
