Cornell Anderson, a beloved father, companion, brother, and friend, was called home to eternal rest on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born on November 6, 1951, in Colquitt, Georgia, Cornell was raised in the Allen Subdivision of Tallahassee, Florida, as the youngest son of the late Marie Jones Anderson. Cornell was a proud graduate of the Florida A&M University (FAMU) High School Class of 1969. He continued his education at FAMU, where he concentrated in pharmaceutical sciences. Throughout his professional career, Cornell dedicated his talents to serving others, working with Baker’s Pharmacy, Purolator Courier, and the FAMU Housing Department. A man of warmth and generosity, Cornell leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted children, Casey Anderson (Rhonda) and Joy L. Anderson; his loving companion, Judy Way; and his siblings, John Anderson, Sr. and Beverly Tolliver. He also leaves behind his children-in-love, Shedrick Pugh, Janeiro Pugh, Tonya Way, and Robyn Way; sisters-in-law, Flora Anderson and Geneva Anderson; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Cornell was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marie Jones Anderson; his brothers, Jerry Anderson, Sr. and Clarence Anderson, Sr.; and his sister/cousin and her husband, Shirley Ann and Roy Lee Stromer. Cornell’s life was a testament to kindness, hard work, and unwavering love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
